Karla has been enthusiastically testing and developing a play curriculum with children in the Seattle area. Karla’s lively presentation offers an opportunity for children to become an author of their own unbound book. Children are often amazed to realize they are an absolutely one of a kind individual with unique gifts and they eagerly begin to share things from their lives that they are grateful for.
Author Karla Mueller offers “Watching children and adults come alive with ideas and dreams makes my heart dance. I just love seeding the discoveries that can last a life time (and beyond).” Interacting with children and listening to their stories is what Karla loves most. It's amazing watching openings in dialogues between adults and children such as the daughter of a biracial couple (African American and Asian Indian) who was finally able to express that because she more closely resembled her African American dad, she didn’t feel pretty. Using the books to dialogue with her, the parents were able to point out the many beautiful African American women in her life. She understood that she was “One of a Kind” and that she was a very special gift in the world.
